Dennis Stefano

National Director of Contract Surety

  • Manage underwriting of client and surety relations in the Contract surety space with a regional and national focus.  

  • Has 30 plus years of surety experience at both the field and home office level, fulfilling key senior level underwriting leadership roles.  

  • Has had direct underwriting involvement and responsibility for all types and ranges of surety clients on a national and global level.  Has had extensive involvement with ENR Top 500 Contractors and Top 600 Specialty Firms, as well as small and emerging organizations; significant experience with complex surety programs and ownership transition challenges.

  • Began career at St. Paul Fire and Marine, followed by senior level surety positions with Liberty Mutual Surety and Arch Capital Group.

  • Territorial leadership positions were held with Arch Surety with rotations that ultimately encompassed the entire country; the role of Chief Underwriting Officer was attained and entailed direct oversight of all contract surety clients and relationships.  

  • Graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelors of Science in Finance.  Also obtained and MBA form St. Joseph’s University.

  • In his spare time, he enjoys time on the golf course, at the beach and most especially time with his family.
